What, you may be asking, is a “Gooch’s Garlic Run”? It’s an annual charity event organized by the Blue Nights (an international recreational police officer motorcycle club) that involves a massive amount of motorcyclists riding through Northern New Jersey en masse to raise money for children stricken with illness.

Grab a glimpse of Gooch's Garlic Run Wednesday, June 21st!

This year’s event begins with registration from 4:30pm-6:30pm at Rockaway Townsquare Mall. (Registration is $20./person with event t-shirts starting at $20.)  Check out the great food, music and vendors!  At 6:30pm, the kickstands go up and participants start the police-escorted motorcycle run to Newark’s Ironbound district.

Whether you plan to watch the run or not, note that route 80 basically becomes a parking lot in both directions during the run, so plan accordingly!
