The young members of the Baby Boom generation in their 50s, are getting squeezed from both sides. They are seeking housing that can accommodate both their children that are moving back in, and the existing or potential future need for their parents to move in.   Finding a home with an in-law suite can be a challenge.  Finding an in-law suite with exactly the features you need can be even more like finding a needle in a haystack. 

Bi-level style homes are often good candidates IF you want separate living space for one generation.  But if you are looking to avoid stairs for elderly relatives, finding a 1st floor suite can be a challenge at any price range.
