Gingerbread Castle History In Hamburg

Back in 1930, construction was completed on this fairy tale like Gingerbread Castle amusement park. Inspired by the Brothers Grimm stories, this castle was elaborately decorated with bright colors, gnomes, witches and cauldrons, whimsical winding paths, and large story book sculptures. The Gingerbread Castle closed due to foreclosure back in 2007. Located in Hamburg Boro, the structure still remains standing, much dilapidated due to the lack of maintenance, but with a glim of hope that one day it can be restored to its fairy tale past!
