Trunk or Treat, Frankford Plains United Methodist Church, 99 Plains Road, Augusta

Join in the fun at the Frankford Plains United Methodist Church Trunk or Treat from 6pm-8pm.  Dress in costume, decorate your trunk, and bring plenty of candy to share!  Prizes for best costume and best trunk.  Crafts, games and snacks provided.  Call 973.702.0334 or email frankfordplainschurch@gmail.com  

4th Annual Bentley Trick-or-Treat Trail, Bentley Assisted Living, 3 Phillips Road, Branchville

Halloween Fun Run/Walk, Newton High School, 44 Ryerson Avenue, Newton

Earn all of those sweet Halloween treats with a USATF-NJ sanctioned 5K Fun Run/Walk for the Newton Pride Foundation.  Don your favorite costume, walk, run, and have fun!  There's face painting, music, food, beverages, goodie bags, Halloween-themed t-shirts and more. Packet pickup and same day registration is all on Saturday, opening at 8am inside the Newton High School gym.  Race begins at 9:30am, rain or shine.   All participants have a chance to win overall 5k prizes.  Information and registration at runsignup.com/Race/NJ/Newton/NewtonPride5KStrideRunWalk

A Miller’s Halloween, Cooper Gristmill, 66 Route 513, Chester

Come in costume for a fun-filled afternoon! Enjoy spooky story telling at 1pm & 2:30pm, make corn husk dolls, create creepy crafts, and play old time games. Halloween Rock-N-Bowl, Sparta Lanes, 83 Woodport Road, Sparta

Bowling, live music by Clean Slate, costume contests for adults & kids (last year’s prize was a flat screen TV!), trivia prizes, colored pin prizes, drink & shot specials and more at this 6th Annual Event.  Reservations highly recommended (last year all lanes sold out.) Halloween “Munchkin March” Costume Parade & Trunk or Treat, Sparta Library Parking Lot, 22 Woodport Road, Sparta

Stock up at the candy store and grab your flashlights for this huge annual Trunk or Treat event that includes a judged costume parade with prizes for the best decorated trunk and for costumes.  The Sparta Recreation Advisory Committee asks attendees to bring canned goods as admission (to be donated to the Sparta Ecumenical Food Pantry.)  Adults are asked not to wear costumes that cover their faces. In the event of rain, the program will be held at the Sparta Fire House on Woodport Road. No registration necessary.  Participating cars must arrive by 4:30pm.  Trunk or treat begins at 5:30pm and the parade starts at 6pm. For more information call 973-729-2383.

Sparta EFC Trunk or Treat, Sparta Evangelical Free Church Back Parking Lot & Gym, 385 Houses Corner Road, Sparta

An afternoon of fun, treats and decorated trunks awaits!  From 3pm-4:30pm, this rain or shine event includes non-scary candy, decorated cars, costumes, hot chocolate, music, cookies, and more.  (Will move to the gym in case of rain.) Let stories of ghosts and ghouls entrance your little ones at Sparta Books' FREE Halloween Storytime from 10am-11am.   Join Miss Michele for a story, songs and hands-on activities at this fun and educational program for ages 18 months – to 5 years (parental supervision required)  Come dressed in your favorite costume for some spooky-time fun!
